Many of you might have wondered what happened to me since it has been a while
since I wrote in. It was just something that kept getting pushed to the back
burner and now the calendar reads March.
So instead of boring you with the past, let me briefly fill you in on the
highlights. The end of January my brother and I competed in the PRCA rodeo in
Lake Charles, La., and it was a showdown between us. Heith ended up winning the
rodeo with an 87 on Smith, Harper and Morgan's Free Sample, while I finished
second with an 85. From there I went to San Antonio, but things didn’t go quite
as well as I had hoped. I did place third in the third round with an 86-point
ride and was able to pick-up a check worth $3,891.
I am currently 12th in the world standings with $14,134 but hope to hit a hot
streak soon to try and close the gap between the 12th spot in the standings and
first. It is hard to believe when you look at the calendar there is just six
months left in the 2008 rodeo season but luckily for me there are a lot of great
paying rodeos between now and the end of September, when the season ends.
Hopefully, I will have lots of good news to share with you in the coming months.
In between rodeos, I have been spending as much time at home as I can. Margie
and I are trying to get a new house built. It is coming along but it would be
nice to just snap my fingers and have it all done. Oh well, the main thing is to
be making progress, right? Darbi continues to grow and she keeps us busy running
all over the place.
Be sure to check out my schedule to see what rodeos I am planning on attending.
There are several good events coming up in April, so hope to draw some good
horses and win lots of money.
I would like to thank my sponsors AT&T and Cinch for their continued support and
would ask each of you to support these fine companies.
Thanks for reading and I hope to keep you a little more up-to-date going
forward.
